How to Vectorize an Image

A free image vectorizer that keeps your colors. Turn a PNG or JPG into a scalable SVG in four steps.

1. Transform Image into SVG

Start by uploading your JPG or PNG file and press Convert to SVG. The converter enlarges your image automatically before tracing, so small images come out with smooth, clean lines too. Transparent backgrounds stay transparent in the SVG.

2. Choose Your Own Colors (Optional)

Colors are picked automatically from your image. To use a palette of your own, tick Manually select colors: a palette is suggested for you, and you can pick new shades directly from the image, add Hex codes with the plus (+) button at the end of the list, or remove colors with the 'X' button next to them. Every shape in the SVG then takes the nearest of your colors.

3. Selecting Noise Level

Sometimes, small specks or artifacts can appear in the vector. To remove these, simply increase the noise filter for a cleaner SVG. Conversely, if critical details are being lost, decreasing the noise filter will capture finer elements. The default of 4 suits most images.

4. Edit Colors & Background Transparency

After the conversion is complete, you can edit the SVG's colors and transparency. Click on any section of the preview to pick a new color or hide the layer completely to make it transparent. You can also toggle the 'Match All' option to simultaneously apply changes to every layer that shares the same color.

FAQ

Is my data safe?▼

Yes. We process images temporarily and discard them immediately after conversion. Nothing is stored.

Can I convert photos?▼

Not recommended. This tool works best for flat graphics, logos, and icons. Photos result in very large, complex files.

Can I remove background?▼

Yes. You can make the background transparent by editing the converted SVG. See step 4, Edit Colors & Background Transparency, in the guide above.
